I'm Jocelyn Panton.
I started acting in 2009 and while I’ve had a pretty good career, I’ll never forget that up until 2017 I HOPED and PRAYED for every single serving shift to get covered. I stressed in my office job because I’d have only like half an hour to go to the audition and back, I was deeply in debt (paid off now hallelujah!), Googling the perfect job that complements acting and I even missed a few auditions because I couldn’t get work off- really needed to pay those bills. 😰
It felt like a catch 22. I needed the perfect schedule to attend auditions, but to be able to have that perfect schedule, I needed to be making really good money- so it seemed to me that booking that big acting gig was the perfect solution…except for the fact that because I NEEDED it, I put a lot of pressure on myself which I’m sure didn’t affect my audition performances in a good way.
Talk about stressful and frustrating.
It never occurred to me that I HAD some pretty amazing skills that I had developed along the way to becoming an actor AND skills that I used to promote myself as an actor…not including the thick skin we’ve developed with all the rejection we’re used to- we can stand up against any competition!
Once I realized the gold I was sitting on and dialled that in, I went from $800 months to $12k months in less than a year.
To break it down a bit further, in 2017, I decided to start a freelance side hustle. While it took some trial and error over a few years, it wasn’t until late 2019 that I REALLY found the money-making steps I needed to take that would make a huge difference. And within a few months, I was bringing in consistent $7k months…making 2020 my first 6-figure year.
But really, I went from an $800 month to a $2900 month in one month by taking those very steps (that’s over 300% growth!). And between you and me, up until then, I really wanted to JUST make $2000 a month. Once I could see this was really possible and the power behind it, I wanted to keep pushing myself further.
It feels so amazing to know that I have more than enough in my bank account and it has ZERO factor over how I feel about my acting career…like zero stress, and it is so freeing to just be able to focus on my gigs and auditions knowing that I don’t need them but would love to have them because it’s what I want.
What I know now is that each one of us actors has built an amazing skillset that can support us at the very same level. We are sitting on this gold with the potential within all of us. I really believe that there are so many more actors out there who aren’t even pursuing the very thing they love because they just can’t make it work.
And all I did was take what I already knew how to do, narrow down on what I enjoyed the most, and started putting myself out there in a strategic way- 15 minutes a day, 5 x a week. And within months everything changed for me. Have I mentioned I love having a padded bank account?
These skills lie in all of us and I know this is possible for you by taking the right steps consistently. In 30 days, you can shift it all around and change the course of your direction and in turn, your acting career.

Before the challenge...
You'll get access to all the training you’ll need for the next 30 days. This is so that between now and when the challenge starts (Feb 21), you can prepare yourself and get ready as much as possible AND have any questions ready for our first group coaching call which will kick off the challenge on Feb 21.
The actual challenge…
Kicks off Feb 21, with the first group coaching on that day. Every day from Feb 21st on, I will provide you with 1 practical action step to get you towards your goal. The goal being MOMENTUM in your side hustle and well on your way (if not already) booking your first client by the end of the 30 days. If you do each action step daily, I don’t see why you wouldn’t have at least one client at the end of the 30 days. But always remember, everyone is on a different path.

Lesson 5: How to do a discovery call
It’s really simple if you think about it as an audition or in a scene with your scene partner. But this is when you meet your potential client for the first time when they’re inquiring about your services.

- You’re going to learn what types of questions to ask so they feel cared for and that you are the right person to work with them

Lesson 7: Setting client's expectations
You set the standards for how you want to enter a working relationship with your clients, because it is YOUR business. This lesson is really important because this is how you get around every worry an actor has about how to make schedules work with acting. And it’s so simple.
